Hi folks,
While I think blogging is for complete and utter wankers…..lots of cool things have been going on…….and I keep saying:
“Man, I gotta write some of this shit down”.
So i’m going to try to do a bit of a catch-up for past 6 months…then stick with regular updates. We’ll see how it goes.
Salud,
Maitland
In the meantime……enjoy this.
Ibiza trip and mix
Hi friends,
Finally I have posted the Ibiza radio show/mix!
Ibiza Trip Mix | September 2006
I hope this mix comes close to capturing the magic of the island of Ibiza. I’ve been wanting to do a chill out mix for a long time….and now was the right time. Ibiza is the ultimate in chill out for me. (With a party available when you want it.) it’s perfect.
enjoy the music.
Mucho abrazos y besos,
con amor!

Estonia Day 2 and Friday Night’s party
On Friday Hugh and I had a really nice day sightseeing around town. The weather was crystal clear and not a cloud in the sky. By nighttime some people were feeling a little worse than others after thursday night! The venue for Friday’s party was perfect. Very warm and intimate with lots of candles and smiles. It went off. At one stage I was across the square @ 3am and all you could hear was: Oomph. Oomph. Oomph in the distance. Hot!
Day 2 gallery is here
Special thanks to Drummi and Orav for a great time in their country.
Peace. Maitland
No commentsEstonia!
Sorry for the delay in posting pics etc… Crazy busy with work! So, back to the trip.
I flew from Barcelona and Hugo flew from London. We reunited in Tallinn Estonia!! With great sadness I left BCN and Coco… it wasn’t easy….but I also wanted to check out a NEW country I had never visited. Estonia! (also the home of Skype). I’m on skype@: Symbio_Agency
Estonia is beautiful. And we were hosted by Drummi and Orav. Very cool guys who have been throwing parties here in Estonia for 10 years plus! We also had a few days here to check out the sites which was nice to be able to relax and do some sightseeing. It’s beautiful and the history is interesting and thought provoking.
An impromtu party happened on Thursday which was cool. But the party on Friday night was awesome. Incredibly warm, intimate and super cool. Candelas Estoinia style.
Day1 Pics here.
Party on Thurs night pics here
Day 2 and Friday night pics coming soon!!!
Enjoy.

No commentsBarcelona, Spain
After Ibiza Hugh, Coco and I all flew to Barcelona. Coco’s home. I stayed with Coco in Barcelona a few years back and I love the city. Hugh was able to stay for a couple of days but then had to head back to London for a couple of parties. I decided to stay in BCN for a week or so….Later i’d fly directly to Estonia to reunite with hugo.
Coco lives at the beach about 20 mins outside of the city in Castelldefels. It’s very warm, sunny, relaxed and a super chilled out place. We headed into the city a few times and had a nice time wandering around checking out some sights. Once again Barcelona consisted of a series of bars, tapas, clubs, paella, beaches, dinners, friends and family. Very cool.
One of our favorite places to go in BCN is “La Macarena”. I found this place competely by accident one night 5 years ago. This place is probably one of my favorite club’s, not only in Spain, but the world. Seriously. It’s perfect. It only has a small bar, an intimate dancefloor, centally located DJ and a bathroom. That’s it. A square box with an incredible sound system. Found down a small sidestreet. You open a HUGE soundproof door to enter….and once in, it’s GOING OFF! When you walk in it’s always a shock because the door dumps your right out on the dancefloor and you are immediately swept away by the party. And the music is always GREAT! Techie and spacey! Everyt time. A few people come in over the night….but noone ever leaves. Till the end. (closing time is 5:30am). I highly recommend it!!!
Barcelona Photo Gallery here.
Some videos from La Macarena on Youtube.
No commentsclubbing clarification
a quick note on my earlier comments about Pacha. Rock on down there and check it out. I’m not anti club. rather I think i’m anti “mega club”. or large commercial or corporate clubs. Typically in these situations you’ll have more punters than can be comfortable. it’s a business. And what comes with that are things like waiting in lines. not just outside…but you may have to wait just to purchase an overpriced drink. Obviously, i’m not referring to wonderful dance parties like: The Loft, Candelas, DeepSpace, Electric Chair or any of the intimate parties on this trip. I think the big difference is that a mega club generally is full of punters who were gathered via a shotgun marketing approach vs. a group of friends who come together for music and tend to respect and love the space, the music and the party. Anywho!
Keep on!
Synchronicity
On this trip some people have asked me what type of music I play. I usually say: Progressive and Psychedelic (but always spacey!). As many of you know i’ve been producing a radio show for the last year or so called: Synchronicity. There are multiple ways to listen to previously broadcasted shows: you can download mp3’s, stream or subscribe to the podcast. I recommend the podcast because then you get the digital artwork attached to each show. (Turn on “show artwork” in I-Tunes)
For some progressive and psychedelic beats check out show 042 - Space Safari.

If that’s not really your “cup of mushroom tea” then have a listen to the show from April 7th, 2006 - Synchronicity - 037

And finally, for some tech house download episode 039 - Love to Evolve:

Enjoy the music.
More travel and pics coming soon. (ps. Ibiza Mix/Radio show has been recorded..posting soon!)

No commentsSa Trinxa on Monday
On Monday we were due to leave…but managed to pack in full day before our flights out at 11pm. Most of our day was spent @ Sa Trinxa. It was good that we waited till our last day to go since you could easily end up there everyday…..and i’m glad we went to lots of other beaches. Sa Trinxa is a good day party and Jon Sa Trinxa was playing.
Sa Trinxa Picture gallery is here.
Some videos are posted on YouTube
No commentsSunday Night
On Sunday about all we could manage was an hour or two at Cala Jondal in the late, late afternoon. It was cool because there was a live band….Video is on YouTube.
Then we headed to a beautiful spot for sunset and a fabulous dinner.Gallery is here.
Saturday Night and the “Funky” Room @ Pacha
We didn’t think our Ibiza trip would be complete without at least going out clubbing at some point. Some pics are here in the Ibiza Saturday / Sunday morning Gallery.
Hugh’s friend got us on the List @ Pacha on Saturday night. The club was pretty dissappointing but frankly, I haven’t had too many great experiences at large clubs. San Diego, Las Vegas, LA, Atlanta, NYC. Anywhere. (Well, except Burning Man). So tonight was no real suprise. Plenty of people seemed to be diggin it…but it’s not for me. However, it was still fun to go out and see what all the hub-bub is about. There was a naked girl dancing in a giant martini glass. You don’t see that everyday.

Above is a picture of Hugh Herrera. Is he meditating in a state of Zen? Or is he twatted, munted and completely trolleyed? You be the judge.
Later that night we went to a club called Underground where Paul Daley was playing. It was better. Or maybe we were just in a better state of mind. Finally we hit a small cala near our villa for a sunrise swim. It turns out Coco wears the same size high heels as Hughito.
Then the chocolate buddha dissappeared…..vanished…..magically.
